This is my version of the Dogz 1 fooler, created using the version of
the game that I bought way back in 1995.

You will need to install the demo, just as with the other fooler. Don't bother to
run it, just grab the zips in this fooler and install them right away. To install
them, unzip Dogz1fooler2.zip into the place where you installed the demo.
If you installed it, for instance, into C:\Dogz.dog, unzip Dogz1fooler2.zip in there.
Some of the files in this zip will overwrite your already-installed ones; say "yes"
if it asks. You do want to replace those files, trust me on this.
Now grab dogz1windowsfiles.zip and unzip that into your Windows directory.
Once again, say "yes" when it asks if it should overwrite files.

Now go back to your game's directory and open Dogz.ini. If your game was installed
somewhere other than c:\Dogz.dog, change the line

Root=C:\DOGZ.DOG\

to point to where your game _has_ been installed instead. And while you're about it,
if your name isn't Testdogz Dogztest, change the line

Name=Testdogz Dogztest

to contain your name instead :-)

Now run the game. You should be able to play with the dogz, follow Daphne's Pup Quiz,
and adopt your own pupper. And any time you want to change the dog for another, you
can go back to the adoption centre by choosing "Activate adoption kit". But remember
that your current pet will be lost if you do that -- so make a backup copy of its
precious files!

Keeping The pet safe
====================
If you want to make sure your particular pet is safe, keep backup copies of
its files. Your pet resides within these files:

Brain.pbt
Dogz.ini
Tricks.tdt
Brain.bak
Saved.lnz

What I do is, at various stages of my pet's life, I zip these files up together
and then I save that zipfile on a separate disc. I don't overwrite any saved zips,
as they don't take up much space and it guards against mistakes. This means that
at any time I can get back to an earlier state of my pet's life, and that I can
always get back to a recent version if a serious corruption occurs on my machine.
I never have lost a pet yet, and I've adopted several Dogz 1 petz.

Enjoy!
