PF. Magic's Catz Ready to Pounce Onto Computer Desktops in May
PF.Magic Expands Computer Petz Line with Catz
SAN FRANCISCO, March 11, 1996 It's reigning Catz and Dogz at PF.Magic, and excitement is
growing in anticipation of the birth of the first-ever litter of Catz! Catz, the second product in the
Computer Petz series from PF.Magic, pounces to desktops and laptops this spring following the hugely
successful release of Dogz, the first-ever pet to live on your desktop. PF.Magic, known for its unique
interactive characters, games and digital toys will release Catz this May for Windows and Macintosh,
further establishing itself as the leader in bringing innovative, interactive "living" characters to the
	computer.
Catz won't mind sharing the computer desktop with you, and offer all the benefits of pet ownership
without the hassle of fur balls or a messy litter box. Catz need attention, they love to be petted and enjoy
playing with their favorite toys: Catz dancer, squeaky toys, yarn and catnipz. Using complex artificial
intelligence technology, Catz features "multiple character interaction," with the introduction of a mouse,
creating a "real" Catz and mouse chase. Catz are finicky eaters and can often be found catznapping after
mealtime. As with Dogz, Catz will protect their home the computer with screen saver functionality
	and password protection.
Born as kittenz, they mature to full grown Catz in a few weeks. The Catz' "purr-sonalities" are directly
shaped and developed based on attention and interaction from the user. There are several breeds
including: lazy fat catz; prowling alley catz; beautiful, finicky catz; funny catz and wide-eyed scaredy-
	catz.
"With the introduction of Catz, PF.Magic continues to bring compelling interactive characters to
computers, ones with which users can develop a real relationship," said Rob Fulop, creative director,
PF.Magic. "Best of all, no one is allergic, and nobody gets fleas from these Catz."
Consumers will be able to adopt Catz for Macintosh and Windows in May through the company's web site
(http://www.catz.com) where consumers can "sample" various kittens for adoption, and
ultimately adopt their own pet through a direct number, 1-800-48-ADOPT. Catz will also be available for
adoption at all leading retail stores nationwide through an affiliate label relationship with Virgin
	Interactive Entertainment.
PF.Magic, established in 1991, creates action games and digital toys for CD-ROM-based game systems
and personal computers. The company has developed some of the most innovative games in the market
today. These include Ballz, the first truly 3-D fighting game on the Sega Genesis, SNES and
	3DO;
PaTaank a "point-of-view" 3-D pinball game on the 3DO; and Max Magic, the world's first electronic
magic kit, hosted by an intelligent 3-D character. In the Fall of 1995, PF.Magic introduced Dogz, the first
product in the Computer Petz line. Located in San Francisco's Multimedia Gulch, PF.Magic is privately
	held.
